Meet Kimberlee Schumacher, Interim Executive Director

Dear Friends,

It is an honor to introduce myself as the Interim Executive Director of Jeff’s Place. As I step into this role, I do so with deep respect for the courage, resilience, and love that define this community.

I bring significant experience serving as an interim leader, specializing in supporting mission-driven organizations and teams during times of change and transition. I am deeply committed to helping organizations remain strong, stable, and focused on what matters most—especially when the work is as meaningful and sensitive as supporting children, teens, and families who are grieving.

Jeff’s Place exists because of the strength of our community who show up—often in moments of profound loss—to support one another ensuring that no one grieves alone. I am incredibly grateful to the families who place their trust in Jeff’s Place, and to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters whose compassion and dedication make this work possible every day.

As we move forward together, my commitment is to listen, to learn, and to ensure that Jeff’s Place continues to be a safe, compassionate, and affirming space for all who are navigating grief. Thank you for welcoming me into this remarkable community. I look forward to getting to know you and to supporting the vital mission of Jeff’s Place.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with ideas and suggestions for how we can continue to best meet your needs. You can reach me at kimberlee@jeffsplace.org.

With gratitude,
Kimberlee Schumacher

Meet Liz Millette, Clinical Director

I’m happy to introduce myself as the new Clinical Director at Jeff’s Place! I’m truly excited to be joining this amazing team and to be part of such a thoughtful, compassionate community.

In my role as Clinical Director, I can be seen co-facilitating our support groups and providing clinical leadership, guidance, and support to our dedicated team of clinicians. I feel most at home in not-for-profit, mission-driven settings and thrive in creative environments. It is truly an honor to support children and families as they navigate some of life’s most difficult moments.

Outside of work, I’m an avid music lover and strongly believe that creativity is an essential part of connection, reflection, and healing. I’m so grateful to be here and look forward to connecting with many of you along the way.

15 Years of Hope: Thanks to our Community!

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported Jeff’s Place year-end appeal.

For 15 years, the generosity of our community has made it possible for us to provide free grief support to families during their hardest moments, walking alongside them with compassion, care, and connection when they need it most.

Every gift given and every story shared means more than words can express.

Thank you for standing with us and with the families we serve, and for helping carry our mission forward. Hope Grows Here.

Celebrating 15 Years of Jeff’s Place: Save the Date

As we celebrate 15 years of Jeff’s Place, we invite you to save the date and help make the next 15 years possible — together. Our annual Spring Benefit will take place on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, at the Village Hall on the Common in Framingham.

This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and every dollar raised helps sustain our programs and ensures our support groups remain free for our families who count on us.

Also, we’re honored to welcome back David Brown as our emcee for the evening. A familiar face to many as a former WCVB-TV meteorologist, anchor, and reporter, David now serves as Vinfen’s Vice President of Communications and Development. His long-standing commitment to service and community reflects the heart of our event and the people who make it possible.

For more information on ways to get involved in our 15th anniversary celebration, click here.

PS. Interested in sponsoring the event? Please contact Allie O’Hara, who would be happy to help.
