Contract Clinician (Child Loss Group)

REPORTS TO: Clinical Director

STATUS: approximately 7 hours per month 

ABOUT JEFF’S PLACE:  Jeff’s Place offers hope and healing in a supportive community for grieving children, teens, families, and individuals. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • To facilitate a support group for parents who experienced the death of a child bimonthly on Tuesday evenings.
  • To participate in a one (approximately) 24-hour extensive training program focusing on working with and understanding the needs of the bereaved, as well as ongoing professional development training opportunities. 
  • To participate and provide clinical expertise in pre and post sessions with other volunteers, clinicians, interns, and staff prior and after the evening grief groups.  
  • To plan group activities, in conjunction with staff, that meets the needs of the group.
  • To complete clinical notes directly following grief support groups.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY: 

  • Ability to provide clinically sound treatment services based on client needs. 
  • Ability to respond to a range of clients’ needs using a variety of treatment approaches. 
  • Ability to make appropriate referrals to staff. 
  • Ability to maintain clinical records in timely compliance. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s Degree Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related discipline from an accredited educational institution.  Independent licensure required. 
Contract Clinician (Substance Use Loss Group)

REPORTS TO: Clinical Director

STATUS: approximately 7 hours per month 

ABOUT JEFF’S PLACE:  Jeff’s Place offers hope and healing in a supportive community for grieving children, teens, families, and individuals.

  • To facilitate a support group for caregivers who experienced a death due to Substance Use, bimonthly on Tuesday evenings.
  • To participate in a one (approximately) 24-hour extensive training program focusing on working with and understanding the needs of the bereaved, as well as ongoing professional development training opportunities. 
  • To participate and provide clinical expertise in pre and post sessions with other volunteers, clinicians, interns, and staff prior and after the evening grief groups.  
  • To plan group activities, in conjunction with staff, that meets the needs of the group.
  • To complete clinical notes directly following grief support groups.
